So last night we made Tuna Melt Stuffed Tomatoes and they were amazing! For the full recipe we used click here. And as I said in the recipe it was important to me to keep the insides and get use out of them as not to waste them. So I decided I would make a salsa/Pico mixture (as truthfully I have no idea what the difference is). And it turned out better than I could imagine!
What You’ll Need
- Either 6-8 full tomatoes or at least the insides and tops of 6-8 tomatoes
- Chili Lime Seasoning
- Lime Juice
- 1 Large onion
- bowl
- spatula
- peppers (optional)
- Cilantro (optional)
Take the tomato insides if already removed from tomatoes and drain them of as much juice as possible.
Then you will need to go ahead and chop up your onion. I like mine small however this could work well with bigger pieces too. You could also optionally add peppers here but the chili lime seasoning gave us enough of a kick that we didn’t find a need for them.
Then add the chili lime seasoning to taste. I added about 3 tbsp of it
Add some Lime Juice about 2 tbsps.
Salt and pepper to taste. Mix and enjoy!

This recipe would go great on tacos or as a regular dip as well with homemade tortilla chips! So good and ready to eat or chill!
